Pre-concert cleanup

A total of 28 bags of trash weighing 1,342 pounds were collected by 121 volunteers on Kim Sha Beach early Sunday morning. The finds were noted on special data cards from Ocean Conservancy.

This event was coordinated by Norina Hermoso of St. Maarten Pride Foundation with the assistance of the Filipino community. There were also volunteers from Learning Unlimited, St. Dominic High, Methodist Agogic Centre schools, Indian Community Kids service club, Tri Sport, K1 Britannia, and INC church. Organiser of a beach bash Shane Huggins joined the clean-up and pleaded during the event that evening for patrons to keep the beach clean. Greg Richardson of Meadowlands volunteered and provided manpower and trucks for the trash removal after the morning clean-up.
