Police search is on for shooter from Curaçao

Aldijr Marlin is being sought by Dutch police for killing another Curaçao man.

ROTTERDAM--Dutch police are looking for a Curaçao man named Aldijr Marlin (22) who is thought to have shot another Curaçao man to death on July 3, 2019.

Marlin is suspected of having shot at Fiat Punto with Gino Oliveira (25) sitting in the back at the Westkousdijk in Rotterdam-Delfshaven in the evening hours. The driver sped to a nearby road where Oliveira was taken out of the car and taken to the hospital. Oliveira died shortly after from his shot wounds.

Police started a large-scale investigation and managed to largely track the shooter’s black car. The route of the car was broadcast on national TV, and witnesses were asked to come forward with information. The detectives’ investigation produced the identity of the possible shooter.

Marlin measures 1.76 metres in height and has dark hair and dark brown eyes. The National Police issued a public notice on Wednesday that he is being sought by authorities. His photo has been released.
