Police pursue masked scooter  riders after suspicious activity

Central Police dispatch received multiple reports about the masked scooter riders

PHILIPSBURG—St. Maarten Police Force KPSM is investigating a suspicious incident involving multiple scooter riders dressed in black and wearing masks in the Front Street area on Saturday afternoon.

According to police, around 1:00pm, Central Police Dispatch received reports of two scooters, each carrying three individuals, all dressed in black clothing and wearing masks. The riders were also reportedly carrying duffel bags as they entered Front Street.

Upon noticing police presence in the area, the group fled toward Cole Bay. At this time, KPSM said no robberies or related crimes have been reported in Philipsburg.

Police patrols are actively searching for the individuals involved. Anyone with information is urged to contact KPSM at +1 (721) 542-2222 or call the anonymous tip line at 9300.
