Police investigating two armed robberies

PHILIPSBURG--The Special Robbery Unit is investigating two armed robberies that took place on Wednesday, July 12.

The first robbery took place at Sunshine Supermarket on Genip Road in St. Peters at approximately 7:45pm. Police reported on Thursday that two unknown men dressed completely in black, one armed with a handgun and the other with a large knife, stormed into the establishment, threatened the cashier and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

The second robbery took place at Four Star Supermarket in Sucker Garden at approximately 9:15pm. A lone gunman dressed in dark clothing stormed into the establishment and robbed the cashier of an undisclosed amount of cash.

In both cases the suspects fled the scene after committing their acts.
