ANGUILLA--An Englishman vacationing in Anguilla drowned at Rendezvous Bay, on Saturday, February 24.

The Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) was called to Sunshine Beach Shack at Rendezvous Bay at 4:35pm after a report of a possible drowning. On arrival at the scene they saw the lifeless body of 74-year-old British national John Twentyman. Members of the Emergency Medical staff of the Princess Alexandra Hospital responded, as well as a doctor from the hospital who at 5:45pm pronounced him dead.

Twentyman and his wife Jane have been visiting Anguilla for many years and spend a few months each year on the island.

The Coroner has ordered an inquest into the case. The Commissioner of Police and members of the RAPF are extending sympathy to the grieving family and friends of the deceased. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to the family during this difficult time.
