PHILIPSBURG--A 38-year-old woman G.J. from the Dominican Republic was arrested by members of the St. Maarten Police Force KPSM on Saturday, July 27, for the severe mistreatment of her fourteen-year-old son identified as G.G.L.
The ill-treatment took place over a long period of time, leaving the victim with many scars on his body. The suspect remains in custody for further investigation, the police said Monday.
In an unrelated case, a male suspect was arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation regarding the theft of a scooter on May 1. The suspect remains in custody for further investigation, the police said.
