Police arrest man on Friday for Dutch Quarter shooting

 

PHILIPSBURG--The St. Maarten Police Force KPSM arrested a man M.E.C. on Friday, September 6, who was responsible for a shooting incident in Dutch Quarter at approximately 3:00pm Sunday, August 4.

  According to reports at the time, several gunshots were fired at the suspect’s father’s home in the 911 Project in Dutch Quarter.

  The shooting took place shortly after a heated discussion between the suspect and his father. St. Maarten police reported on Tuesday, August 6, that no one had been injured in the shooting.

  The suspect fled the scene after the incident and was not seen until a police patrol spotted him in the vicinity of Madame Estate Shopping Centre on Friday.

  After being taken into custody, he was brought to the Philipsburg police station for further investigation.
