PHILIPSBURG--A pole located at the A.J.C. Brouwer Road/Sarsapilla Road junction near the old Cake House caught fire yesterday evening.
After assessment it was determined that the area would stay out of power until today, August 1, as both the overhead line and pole had burnt out due to high load demand of the homes located behind the supermarket.
Considering the weather and the risk of lightning, no work was executed last night in relation to the safety of GEBE’s workers.
The technicians will further assess the situation this morning and determine what can be done to repair the cable.
