PM warns about use of well water

POND ISLAND--Prime Minister Leona Romeo-Marlin has issued a warning to resident to refrain from using the country’s well water for consumption. Showering with well water may cause skin irritation.

Well water can be used for flushing toilets, washing vehicles, mopping and irrigation of plants. However, residents should not use well water without following required steps to sanitize the water first before usage.

Well water has always been declared unsafe for consumption by the Inspectorate of Health and this has been communicated widely via the press. For further information about precautionary measures, visit the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labour’s Facebook page or government’s website.
