SIMPSON BAY--Princess Juliana International Airport opened its annual two-day Safety Fair on Thursday, bringing together employees and airport partners for hands-on learning, demonstrations, and engagement centered on workplace safety. The event continues today, and all staff and stakeholders are encouraged to take part.
The Safety Fair takes place in the Meet & Greet area of the Arrival Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., featuring interactive booths, live demonstrations, quizzes, and safety-themed games. Participants collect stamps at each booth for the chance to win prizes — while brushing up on best practices that help protect the airport community every day.
This year’s theme — “Safety! Go home as you came in” — underscores SXM Airport’s commitment to ensuring that every member of its workforce ends the day injury-free. The initiative highlights accident prevention, heightened awareness, and the shared responsibility of maintaining safe operations.
“Safety is everyone’s responsibility,” said Connally Connor, SXM Airport’s Quality Assurance Manager. “When we educate, involve, and empower our airport community, we strengthen our entire operation. This fair is a reminder that every action counts — and that going home safely is our number-one priority.”
SXM Airport extended its appreciation to the departments and partners who contributed to making this year’s Safety Fair both informative and enjoyable.
