PALIG has new GM for Dutch Caribbean islands

PHILIPSBURG--Olivier Van De Gevel has joined Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG) as its new General Manager (designate) for the Dutch Caribbean islands pending the corresponding regulatory approvals.

  Van De Gevel will be responsible for business development and growth, field force management as well as financial performance for the market, PALIG said in a press release on Monday. He will report to PALIG Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Caribbean Greer Quan.

  “Olivier has extensive experience in the insurance industry and knowledge of the Caribbean, particularly the needs of customers that call the Dutch islands home. His expertise will be instrumental to our continued growth in the market,” said President Global Benefits of PALIG Robert DiCianni. “Having him on our team will allow us to continue providing excellent service to our producers and policy holders, while adding new talent that will contribute a fresh and innovative perspective for PALIG.”

  Van De Gevel joins PALIG from Guardian Group Fatum, where he was Country Manager. He has nearly 17 years of insurance and financial management experience from his work in the Netherlands, Amsterdam and the Caribbean, including positions with Zwitserleven Advies lounge. He is an active member of the St. Maarten Insurance Association, St. Maarten National Health Council and the Rotary Club of St. Maarten. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Hanzehoge school, HEAO of Groningen in the Netherlands.
