Our Land Matters 1st initiative draws crowd

MARIGOT--The Our Land Matters first rally held in the Boo Boo Jam area on October 2, attracted a large crowd, organisers said.

At the event, several speakers called on the residents of Saint Martin to unite and stand for their rights. Some also called for the reopening of Boo Boo Jam, which was once a popular sport for locals to congregate.
“The rally drew a large crowd [of persons who – Ed.] listened keenly to the words of local activists, grass root St. Martiners and long-standing Boo Boo Jam patrons who are concerned about what is taking place on their beloved island,” organisers of the event said.

Coordinators thanked everyone who contributed to the event and the community of St. Martin/St. Maarten “for standing for this cause.”

Our Land Matters next event will be a “Billboard Selfie Saturday” and barbecue, the date of which will be announced at a later time.
