On-island testing

On-island testing

Aruba’s testing for coronavirus takes place in the laboratory of Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH). The health care institute recently made investments in new techniques and devices that are now paying off.

The microbiology section has equipment that can only be found at 12 labs in the Netherlands. Test kits are still coming from Belgium and another 4,000 has just arrived. The island now has 40 positive cases and government decreed a prohibition on all gatherings as the population “shelters in place.”
