The Dutch Quarter Sewage project has encountered a major delay due to issues regarding payment procedures. Work on the project which covered a significant stretch of the Dutch Quarter section of A. Th. Illidge Road, is all but stalled for weeks now.
The completion of the European Union-funded project is said to be delayed until January or February 2020. Discussions about the way forward on the vital project were held last week between the visiting director of Van Boekel, the company awarded the contract for the sewage project, and representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure VROMI.
