No marine traffic under bridge during repairs

MARIGOT--The Collectivité informs the public that repair work to the Sandy Ground Bridge will now start on Tuesday, June 11, and end on Monday, June 17. Unless there are bad weather conditions, the bridge will be open again on Tuesday, June 18, at usual opening hours.

The bridge has been out of operation since June 3 due to a mechanical fault. Given the dangerous nature of the work, marine traffic in the channel will be strictly prohibited during the work period from 8:00am to 12:00pm and from 12:30 to 3:30pm. This prohibition is regulated by a territorial decree and enforced by the Police Territorial and Gendarmerie.
However, the work periods will make movement of boats possible in the channel before 8:00am, between 12:00 and 12:30pm, and after 3:30pm. Signage will be put in place on the structure to alert users.
