Nine-year-old pupil missing

PHILIPSBURG--Diana James came to the Philipsburg Police Station and filed a report with the Detective Department on Thursday in which she stated that her nine-year-old daughter Zariyan Salmon has gone missing and not returned home.

Zariyan is a pupil at Martin Luther King Jr. School located in Zorg en Rust. Zariyan went to school early on Thursday morning. She would normally be picked up by the school bus after school is out at 12:45pm and be driven to the Wing Da Supermarket on Nazareth Road where she would be picked up by her mother around 1:00pm.

On the arrival of her mother, Zariyan was nowhere to be found. The mother contacted friends and acquaintances to try to locate Zariyan without any success. Zariyan is of dark complexion, slim posture and is dressed in the school uniform of Martin Luther King Jr. School. Anyone who may have seen Zariyan or has any information concerning her location should immediately get in contact with the Detective Department by calling 542-2222 ext. 214-215 or the emergency number 911.
