Garbage collection in some districts, including Philipsburg, remains the talk of the town and a number of concerned citizens have been voicing their concerns about the issue to The Daily Herald on a daily basis.
The Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI maintains that the commercial garbage from businesses in Philipsburg is the sole responsibility of the businesses, not Government. VROMI Minister Angel Meyers plans to make an announcement concerning the garbage collection today, Wednesday. He also intends to deal with the new garbage collectors who are not living up to their contractual agreements to pick up the garbage in some districts on time.
