ST. EUSTATIUS--On Friday morning the public was introduced to Dutch Caribbean Islandhopper ~ Must Go Statia, an airline that just launched on the island offering airline services to and from the island of Statia from St. Kitts.
The flight that morning was captained by Steven Chinakwie from the island of Curacao, and Mechanic Jeison Alvarez-Castro from Columbia. The inaugural flight had three (3) passengers onboard who expressed how happy for this gateway to St Kitts.
The passengers said that they travelled to St. Kitts to seek medical treatment as they've been trying to get answers to their serious medical ailments on the island for the past several months with any type of success.
The flight took 10 minutes to the island of St Kitts. Recently St. Kitts has become the alternative for persons seeking medical assistance. The return flight was the next day for those passengers that were returning to Statia, which was an 18 hour turnaround. Many people are travelling off their own funds to the neighbouring island of St. Kitts for medical care, which has been this way for years. One passenger said the flight was very good and very fast.
