MPs to continue talks on PJIA’s financial situation

PHILIPSBURG--Members of Parliament (MPs) will today continue their discussions on the financial situation of Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA), the funding for the reconstruction of the facility and the resignation of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

The virtual public meeting is set to start at 3:00pm and it is the continuation of a meeting which had been adjourned on March 20. Minister of General Affairs, Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs and Minister of Finance, Ardwell Irion will be present.

The meeting was requested by National Alliance (NA) MP Christophe Emmanuel and United St. Maarten Party (US Party) MPs Claudius Buncamper and Akeem Arrindell.

Due to measures taken to mitigate the coronavirus COVID-19, the House of Parliament is currently closed to the public until further notice.

The parliamentary session will be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 115, 107.9FM, 98.1FM, www.pearlfmradio.sx, www.sxmparliament.org and Parliament’s Facebook page: Parliament of Sint Maarten.
