MPs talk financial situation  of airport at 2:00pm today

PHILIPSBURG--Members of Parliament (MPs) will hold an “urgent” public virtual meeting today, Wednesday April 1, at 2:00pm, to discuss the financial situation of Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA), the funding for the reconstruction of the facility and the resignation of the airport’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

  Minister of General Affairs Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs and Minister of Finance Ardwell Irion will be in attendance.

  The meeting was requested by National Alliance (NA) MP Christophe Emmanuel and United St. Maarten Party (US Party) MPs Claudius Buncamper and Akeem Arrindell.

  Due to measures taken to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, the House of Parliament is currently closed to the public until further notice.
