Member of Parliament (MP) Rodolphe Samuel (National Alliance (NA)) met Head of the Dutch Civil Mission Erwin Arkenbout on Friday. Discussion centred on the 550 million euros the Dutch Government has earmarked for St. Maarten’s hurricane recovery.
Samuel said it was clear from the discussions that it would be some time before the actual disbursement of the funds to Government; possibly before the end of May 2018. He invited Arkenbout to meet with Parliament. This invitation has been sent on to The Hague for consideration. NA fraction Policy Advisor Oswald G. Bell also attended the meeting.
