Acting Minister of Tourism Cornelius de Weever announced on Wednesday that American Airlines (AA) has increased its daily seat capacity into St. Maarten to 160. AA will start a new flight from Charlotte to St. Maarten on November 4 and will have a total of three flights out of Miami to St. Maarten starting December 19.
The minister said he is happy with the news and looks forward to more airlines coming online while the airport continues to rebuild. “The goal is to let the world know that we are open for business,” he said.
