May 31 deadline to file 2018 income tax return

PHILIPSBURG--Taxpayers in the country have until May 31, to file their income tax return for 2018.

Tax Administration St. Maarten's Inspectorate Department said in a brief press release that the opening hours of the front desk at Tax Administration will be extended from 7:30am to 3:30pm from May 27 to May 31, to provide taxpayers with extra time to file their income tax forms.

Taxpayers who require additional time to file their tax forms can request a postponement no later than May 31. The postponement can be for a maximum of two months only. A request for postponement to file the Income Tax form for 2018 can be submitted at the front desk of the Tax Administration located at the Vineyard Building. Requests for a postponement must be properly motivated and substantiated as to the reason(s) why the tax forms cannot be submitted on time. Persons should also provide the Tax Administration with a copy of their valid identification ID, their crib number, phone number and email address so that they can contact you for further information.
