Marie de Weever sworn in as Mortgage Custodian

PHILIPSBURG--Marie de Weever was sworn in as a Mortgage Custodian for the Land Registry (“Kadaster”) in St. Maarten by Governor Eugene Holiday on Tuesday morning.

De Weever is said to have a wealth of experience about the inner workings of the Kadaster office where she worked for several years.

Her addition to the Kadaster office, according to Chief of the Minister of Finance’s Cabinet Wilgo Lieveld, is to assist in clearing up some of the backlogs that remain at the Kadaster.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Governor’s Cabinet in the presence of Interim Kadaster Director Robert Boekhold, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kadaster and Mortgages St. Maarten Louis Crastell Gumbs, Marie’s husband Sidney de Weever, and Lieveld.

Minister of Finance Perry Geerlings has congratulated De Weever on her appointment and says he looks forward to her “continued excellent service to the people of St. Maarten.”
