Man shot Tuesday in Dutch Quarter

PHILIPSBURG--Detectives are investigating the shooting of a man W.M. on Milton Drive in Dutch Quarter around 7:00pm on Tuesday, August 27.   

  According to a police press release, the victim was shot by an unknown assailant who arrived at the location with another person driving an unfamiliar car. The suspects fled the scene after the shooting.

  M.’s wife immediately took him to St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) where he was admitted and operated on. He was said to be in critical condition at the time.

  1. was flown abroad for further medical treatment after his surgery Tuesday. His present medical situation is unknown.

  The reason for the shooting and the suspects’ identities are still unknown.

  Police are investigating the incident and the Detective Department requests that anyone who may have information in connection with this case call police via tel. 542-2222 ext. 213/214 as soon as possible.
