UPDATED: Man shot dead at home in Sucker Garden

SUCKER GARDEN--Patricio Tomas was shot in cold blood at his home on Monday close to 7:00pm. Neighbours heard three shots and screams from Tomas’ home from his wife and son.

The family lives behind Rainbow Grocery in Sucker Garden near the emergency homes there. The Daily Herald understands that Tomas was the owner of Patricio Scrap Metal and was also known as “Barba.”

Police arrived on the scene and took control of the situation after neighbours and family members tried to revive the well-known businessman’s lifeless body.page1b209

“On the scene the investigating officers and paramedics found the male victim lying on the floor in his home shot. He was not showing any signs of life. Paramedics tried to revive the victim without success,” police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said in a press release. “The incident took place on the Marlin property.”

Ambulance officials tended to the victim’s wife and son, but they were in utter shock and refused medical treatment. The victim’s son ran out of the ambulance in tears at one point shouting, “I want my father, I need my father.”

Bystanders believe a man came from the back of the home, shot Tomas and fled the scene in a vehicle, but the police could not confirm this.

“Police are doing everything possible to hear witnesses and try to solve the crime as soon as possible,” Henson stated.
