FRENCH QUARTER--A man is in St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) nursing two bullet wounds he suffered in French Quarter on Tuesday just after midnight.
The man had a gunshot wound to his left arm and one in his back. He told Dutch-side police he had been at a bar in French Quarter and suddenly for no reason he was attacked by a group of men who shot at him. He said he had run from the scene and got a ride from a friend who brought him to SMMC.
Detectives took the man’s statement at SMMC, where he remains for observation and further treatment.
The French-side authorities have been informed of the incident and will continue the investigation when the shooting survivor is released from SMMC.
