Man held with toy gun disguised to look real

CUPECOY--A man J.E.F. was arrested on Rhine Road in Cupecoy on Thursday with a toy gun disguised to look like a real weapon.

Police said in a press release on Friday that patrol officers had pulled over a vehicle which was in violation of the window-tint laws in the vicinity of the Rhine Road during a routine control on Thursday. During the control officers noticed a strong odour of marijuana coming from the vehicle. F. confessed to having nine marijuana bags in his pocket.

The vehicle was searched and a handbag that was in the middle console contained what appeared to be a firearm. On further inspection officers discovered it was a fake (toy) gun disguised to look like a real weapon.

The suspect was placed under arrest and taken to the Philipsburg police station for additional questioning.
