Man arrested for threat and firearm possession

DUTCH QUARTER--Police are investigating a case of threat and firearm possession that took place on Richardson Drive in Dutch Quarter at approximately 10:20pm Saturday.

According to police reports, a phone call came into the Emergency Central Dispatch from a woman who stated she had been attacked and threatened by a man with a gun who had fired two shots at her. A police patrol went to the scene immediately to investigate what had taken place.

On the scene, the officers spoke to the victim who pointed out the suspect. The suspect was arrested immediately and remains in custody for questioning and further investigation.

During a search of the area, officers found the gun allegedly belonging to the suspect. The weapon was confiscated for further investigation.
