PELICAN--Police arrested well-known burglar G.R. in the Pelican area around 4:30am Sunday after he attempted to burglarise a home in the area. According to police, R. is suspected of having burglarised several homes in the Pelican area over the past few months.
Police received a call early Sunday morning from a resident of Pelican who told the dispatch centre that he had an intruder in his house. He said an unknown man had broken into his home and had run away when he realised he had been spotted.
The caller described the suspect and this description was passed on to officers who were on their way to the address. “After a quick search in the area, the patrols were able to apprehend the notorious burglar G.R. after information surfaced about his whereabouts,” said police in a press release on Monday.
