Lions Club of Anguilla has new executive board

ANGUILLA--Tiffany Hughes is the new President of the Anguilla Lions Club. She pledged her commitment to the work of the Lions with her theme “Reach the Unreached; Touch the Untouched.” The installation ceremony was conducted by Past Zone Chairman of Zone 2B Lion Ernie Hodge-Carty.

The new President plans on branding the Club’s image, membership retention, and rebuilding comradery in the community, while remaining dedicated to service. She said there is a need to collaborate with other clubs on the island and the community at large. She suggested that incentives will be offered to members who go the extra mile to assist in executing projects.

Outgoing president Hewlett Gumbs thanked the Lions for their support and commitment and pledged his continued assistance to the new president as the Lions aim to serve the community.

The new Executive includes President Tiffany Hughes, Secretary Ernie Hodge-Carty, Treasurer Melissa Meade, past president Hewlett Gumbs and other directors. During the past few years the Lions Club has conducted and participated in a variety of projects and programmes including the distribution of food baskets to needy families, collecting used eye glasses that are sent to the US for recycling, and the Lion Ermine Edwards Education Sponsorship Programme.
