Lee: 67,000 not number of ZV insured, but wage limit to qualify for insurance

PHILIPSBURG--The figure of 67,000, which was attributed in recent days as the number of persons registered under the ZV/OV sickness and accident insurance funds, is actually the maximum yearly earnings that an individual should have in order to qualify to be insured under the funds.

The exact amount of the 2018 annual wage limit for persons to qualify for coverage is NAf. 67,816, Minister of Health, Labour and Social Affairs VSA Emil Lee said on Friday.

Lee did not have the figures available on how many persons were currently registered under the ZV/OV funds on Friday, but promised to provide this information to The Daily Herald next week.
