Kingdom Games  held in Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD--The Kingdom Games officially opened Friday evening with a colourful and festive parade of all participating teams. Athletes from Bonaire, Aruba, Sint Maarten, Saba, Sint Eustatius, the Netherlands and of course Curaçao as the host country, entered “Sentro Deportivo Kòrsou” (SDK) to loud applause.

The enthusiastic crowd provided an energetic start to a sports weekend that revolves around inclusion, connection and performance. The competitions included soccer, athletics, swimming and bocce, while demonstrations - including powerlifting - showcased the versatility of Special Olympics.

They lasted until approximately 5:00pm, after which the athletes were honoured and followed by the closing ceremony.
