PHILIPSBURG--KFC St. Maarten participated in this year’s St. Martin Day Cultural Parade, showcasing the company’s dedication to the local community while inspiring a deeper sense of togetherness, pride, and cultural connection.
With a vibrant group of 25 team and family members dressed in cultural wear, KFC honoured the island’s rich heritage through colour, symbolism, and unity.
Marching under the group name “We Are the Secret Ingredients!”, the team’s costume design celebrated the spirit of St. Maarten and the elements that make the island home. The patterned fabric featured five meaningful colours: white, red, green, yellow, and blue, representing tourism, sunshine, the island’s waters, the brown pelican, purity, and the warmth of home and family.
At the forefront, four ambassadors wore aprons, hand-designed by La Rich Audain, showcasing the meaning behind each colour, while the queen embodied all five, symbolizing unity and shared island pride. Every participant proudly wore these colours as they marched and danced in unity, reinforcing a collective connection to the island’s culture and beauty.
KFC said in a press release that it was honoured to have celebrated as one of the only corporate partners. This cultural engagement alongside the community further strengthened KFC’s commitment to supporting and uplifting the island’s heritage.
“Being part of the St. Martin Day Cultural Parade is more than an appearance, it’s a celebration of who we are as a corporate partner in the community,” said KFC St. Maarten General Manager Derryck Jack. “Our team showed tremendous pride and unity, and we are honoured to stand with the people of St. Maarten in preserving and celebrating our shared culture.”
