Hundreds turned out at Wilhelmina Park in St. Eustatius on Sunday for the annual Christmas tree lighting held by the Dominican Association, an event now in its 21st year.
The lights were scheduled to be switched on at 6:30pm but the rain had other ideas, delaying the special moment to 7:30pm. A prayer was said in Spanish and then the lights came alive to the delight of the crowd of adults and children.
