Officials of the United Nations’ Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) recently wrapped up a mission here with a view to assisting the country with its planning to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
ECLAC will link St. Maarten stakeholders with international and regional organisations and assist in determining data and information gaps related to SDGs. ECLAC will also assist government with addressing institutional and capacity needs of its statistical system for evidence-based policy planning. ECLAC will provide technical assistance geared to aligning SDGs with development priorities in the National Development Plan and linking opportunities for SDGs as part of recovery projects.
