Inventory of dilapidated buildings starts this month

POND ISLAND--The Ministry of Environment and Infrastructure VROMI will commence an overview of all buildings around the country that need to be restored or demolished.

  VROMI Minister Miklos Giterson told the press on Wednesday it is still his ministry’s intent to tackle the dilapidated houses and building structures and the health and safety risks these building pose to the public.

  Owners of the dilapidated structures will be contacted by the Ministry’s Inspection Department to provide a specific plan of approach for demolition or rebuilding. If no action is taken by the owner within deadline given by the ministry, government will take enforcement actions at the expense of the property owner.
