Instruction lists three budgetary conditions

THE HAGUE--The financial instruction recently given to Curaçao by the Kingdom Council of Ministers mentions three basic requirements.

First, this year’s looming deficit of 112 million Netherlands Antilles guilders must be eliminated to balance the budget.

Second, the remaining shortfalls of 2017 and 2018 totalling NAf. 169.5 million must be compensated with surpluses in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Third, the arrears to general pension fund APC and Social Insurance Bank SVB must be paid off by December 31, 2022.

While the Rhuggenaath Cabinet has filed a so-called crown appeal against the decision of the Kingdom government dominated by Dutch ministers, this does not suspend the instruction that must thus be executed pending the procedure to seek advice from the Council of State.
