Homemade masks

French-side residents pick up free face masks at a distribution point run by the military in Sandy Ground on Wednesday.

Distribution points were set up at various locations all day. There were no queues of people waiting to pick up masks. The washable, re-usable, standard quality fabric masks have been made by some 52 local seamstresses. The Préfecture’s goal is to have 40,000 masks available: one for each inhabitant. To date, 34,000 have been produced. Photo by Robert Luckock.
