PHILIPSBURG--Government together with the St. Maarten Christian Council, the St. Maarten United Ministerial Foundation and the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, hosted the 26th Annual Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
The event was held at the New Testament Baptist Church in Philipsburg under the theme “God is our rock and our shelter.”
Thanksgiving in St. Maarten calls residents to gather on the first Sunday of December to give thanks for blessings and protection throughout the year, and to mark the end of the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30. The annual service began after the Executive Council’s decision on December 1, 1999, with the first public Thanksgiving Service held on December 5 of that year.
This year’s programme included songs of praise, prayers of thanksgiving, and other expressions of gratitude.
