PHILIPSBURG--TPI Firm director Dr. Natasha Gittens held the interest of the sixty Kooyman Mega Store staff members as she delivered the keynote and motivational address at the store’s event held last Friday. Gittens received her invitation to speak from Kooyman's Corporate Office in Curaçao.

Gittens’ presentation focused on the term “gray,” signifying that employees must not live in the “gray” and always conduct themselves focusing on the organisation's core values: Mission, Vision and Positive Cultural Climate.

Employees were given examples of “gray” behaviours, attitudes and inappropriate behaviours in the workplace that ignite stagnation and prevent upward mobility within any organisation.

Jessica Jacobs, a recently-employed customer service employee, said, “Wonderful, great motivation speech.” She also hoped to hear more uplifting presentations such as this one.

Kenneth Hunt, employed for more than 10 years and currently working in sales, said the presentation was what employees at Kooyman needed to hear.

The session ended with employees revitalising their approach to their work performance, revisiting the importance of employment accountability and recommitting to the organisation as a whole, while understanding their valuable role in taking the organisation to an enhanced competitive edge in its sector.
