MARIGOT--The Gendarmerie is appealing to the public to be vigilant due to a sudden spike in armed robberies in the last few days.
An investigation into the phenomenon has been opened. It appears a gang of armed robbers has been operating in the public domain in recent days, committing violent attacks on persons who might be circulating alone late at night before robbing them of their valuables.
The Gendarmerie advises inhabitants to be particularly vigilant. Anyone who has witnessed any robbery or has information that would be useful to the investigation is asked to call the Gendarmerie operations centre, tel. 17.
