Gendarmerie announces arrests for two homicides

MARIGOT--The Gendarmerie disclosed Friday that two suspects had been arrested on Thursday, October 20, in connection with the double homicides committed in the Cul- de-Sac area earlier this year.

On Tuesday, May 10, 2016, Patrick Lescuyer was found dead in his car near the Grandes Cayes beach. He had been assassinated by two bullets to the head.

On Wednesday, July 13, 2016, his mother Françoise Lescuyer was shot dead at 9:00am with three bullets, in the car park of the Leader Price Supermarket in Hope Estate.

The subsequent diligent investigation conducted by detectives of Section de Recherches de St. Martin led to the identification of two individuals; one for financial reasons was a silent partner while the other was the assassin in both cases.

In the early morning of October 20, the two suspects were arrested in their homes by Gendarmes and immediately placed in custody where they admitted to the murders under interrogation.

On Friday afternoon the pair had been transferred to Guadeloupe for trial.
