GEBE offices closes at 12pm today for system upgrade

PHILIPSBURG--NV GEBE offices will close to the public at 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 10, as the utility company carries out a system upgrade that will temporarily change some of its normal processes.

The offices will reopen on Friday, September 11, at 7:45am. During the transition, GEBE will continue assisting customers, but some transactions will be handled manually and may take longer than usual. Customers will be able to make in-person payments at available cashier locations using cash, debit cards or credit cards.

GEBE is encouraging customers to ensure that a valid email address is registered on their account because, after the upgraded system is implemented, important documents such as payment receipts, account information and certain customer service documentation will be provided electronically.

Customers completing certain transactions during the transition may receive temporary document or account reference numbers. Once the information has been entered into the new system, an official number will be generated.

Customers are advised to keep all receipts, temporary reference numbers and other documents received during the transition until their transactions have been fully processed and official receipts have been received.

Customers making cash payments during the manual process will receive a temporary cash receipt that will look different from GEBE’s normal official receipt. They should present the temporary receipt during their next visit to any GEBE office to receive the official receipt.

Online payments made during the transition will be processed once the upgraded system is operational. The official receipt will then be sent to the email address registered on the customer’s account.

GEBE said existing account information, balances, payment information and account history will be carried over as part of the transition. Payments made through the manual process will be uploaded once the system is operational.

Customers may notice temporary changes in how some processes and services look or feel, while certain transactions may take longer as employees adjust to the new system and processes.

GEBE asked customers for patience, cooperation and understanding during the transition as the company works toward improving its internal operations and overall customer experience.
