PHILIPSBURG--Motorists tanking up at gas stations in St. Maarten will get some relief at the pumps as of Tuesday, when the prices of unleaded gas (ULG) and diesel fuel drop.
The price of unleaded gas is set to go down to NAf. 1.978 per litre from NAf. 2.151, while the price of diesel fuel will be reduced to NAf. 1.560 from NAf. 1.675.
Government regulates the prices of petroleum products by imposing a maximum price at which wholesalers and retailers can sell these products in St. Maarten. A notice from the Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications (TEATT) stated that due to the ongoing developments on the international level, the prices of crude oil have experienced adjustments and new prices will go into effect in St. Maarten from 6:00am June 18.
