Funding deadline for SXM Doet project registration January 23

PHILIPSBURG--Be The Change Foundation in collaboration with Oranje Fonds urges all interested foundations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), schools, health organisations, clubs and sports organisations to register their project(s) for SXM Doet on or before January 23 to be considered for funding.

The project is an initiative introduced by the Oranje Fonds in the Netherlands with NLdoet, which started in the Netherlands more than 10 years ago and later expanded to Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, St. Eustatius and St. Maarten. SXM Doet will be hosting the third edition of this volunteer programme on Friday and Saturday, March 10 and 11.

The initiative involves all interested NGOs that want to execute projects they would like to carry out but have not had the resources, time and/or hands to do so. Interested NGOs should register the project(s) they would like executed through the help of volunteers on

www.SXMDOET.com by the deadline.

Projects must require at least five volunteers and must feasibly be completed within one or two days. The types of projects can vary and a person with any skill or will can volunteer, be it by providing hairdressing and make-up makeovers to the elderly, or construction and painting skills for an educational or sports facility, taking foster children out on an entertaining excursion or participating in a neighbourhood beach clean-up.

Registration for volunteers to sign up for projects is open from now until March for individuals, companies, schools and other community-oriented organisations. For further information on the requirements to sign up visit the website

www.SXMDOET.com or contact the Project Management team by e-mail at
