Fun in the sun

Carnival Cruise Line executives presented the first Carnival “Choose Fun” flag to Port St. Maarten representatives at the recent Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Operations Committee meeting, as a symbol of partnership. The Port is the first public port to receive the rebranded flag since the cruise line rolled out its new marketing campaign earlier this year. Carnival executives reported that St. Maarten experience ratings are near pre-Irma levels. Tourism Minister Cornelius de Weever commended the Port supervisory board and management for their proactive efforts in getting word out that the destination is open for business since Hurricane Irma’s passing. Port management said St. Maarten is performing above average compared to other destinations impacted by the hurricane, “however, we must continue to be innovative country-wide if we want to see a further improvement in passenger reviews.”
