First Statia baby of 2019

The first baby of 2019 in St. Eustatius was born on Wednesday, January 30, at 11:22pm. A baby boy was born to proud mom Chrisha Spanner (centre) and dad Juan Carlos Abreu at Queen Beatrix Medical Centre. Spanner was all smiles as she glanced at her new baby boy, who has not yet been named. His mother said she’s planning to take some extra time to pick out a special name for her new bundle of joy. The new baby boy weighed in at 3,690 grams and he had a length of 50 centimetres. The baby was delivered by midwife Diana Cumberbatch (left), assisted by nurse Patrick Nomden (right).
