ST. EUSTATIUS--The Fire Department of St. Eustatius introduced two new recruits on Tuesday. Acting Fire Chief Chester Tearr said the Department was short on personnel and needed new firefighters. The new recruits are Lurvin Gordon and Kevin Lijfrock.
The two are expected to travel to Bonaire around the end of the month for training to bring them up to par.
“It is a good opportunity where you can learn to be amongst the group, and also to learn to become disciplined,” Gordon said.
Lijfrock is very excited. He said he wants to prove that he can help out in the community.
