PHILIPSBURG--Two homes suffered major damages on Wednesday evening just after 9:00pm at the top of Back Street. The owners of one of the homes were not home when smoke started to come through the home.
The blaze moved quickly and almost flattened the wooden home located next to it. Two Fire Department trucks responded to the call and Fire fighters took out the blaze and prevented surrounding homes from being affected.
The Fire Department officials cornered the home and said that VROMI will demolish the home on Thursday. The owners could not be found according to authorities. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
